Inês Tecedeiro, Constança de Jesus, Filipe Ferraz
Starting from her master’s thesis, Inês Tecedeiro joins forces with Constança de Jesus, director and actress, and Filipe Ferraz to create “The Oldest of All“, an interdisciplinary show about aging.
They bring together bodies, words, movements, and places of older women, in video form, interacting with two young performers on stage. Beginning at birth, the aging process starts from birth.
A process that can be violent for the body and mind. The way we see ourselves and how others see us advances in parallel, in a game of cognitive dissonances. An inevitable process, more difficult for women, encouraged to stay in an “ideal age“. However, being old is also something that is learned. Norms and stereotypes to be challenged in this play.
