Original creations for the Festival

M(è)r(e)s (Mothers)
created by the Ladainha Dance Company, choreographed by Michelle Brown and set to music by Mel Harlé-Scale.

Performed by both artists. A story about women and water, narrating depths. An invitation to rewrite our myths, to reconnect with a poetic explanation of life and to refound a reality in a society devoid of connection with the world, the earth, and nature.

I’m in Good Hands, Trust by Kaê Brown de Carvalho and Jerson Diasonama. Performed by both artists.

In the performance “I’m in Good Hands, Trust“, dance becomes a profound dialogue between body and mind, an exploration of balance through trust in the other. Each movement is a response to the call of self-transcendence, where the other becomes a mirror, an echo of our own essence. Each corporality, whatever it may be, is accepted and sublimated, elevated to a higher level thanks to this relationship of trust. “I’m in Good Hands, Trust” celebrates the importance of relying on the other through gesture to better discover and elevate oneself.
Between these two artists, there is initially a common origin around hip-hop, between break and freestyle. But it is undoubtedly their shared Lusophone culture that best unites Kaê and Jerson, drawing from their Angolan and Brazilian roots the essence of this duo. Between floor work and verticality, capoeira is not far off, and the explorations are numerous to transform their games into a true gestural encounter, discovering multiple influences, sealed by trust and complicity.
