Michelle Caires – Studio Artística
Fusion of tradition and innovation, the performance explores female corporality. A unique creation for the festival, the piece is choreographed by Michelle Caires and performed by the Artística group – Performing Arts of Calheta.
In this show, the artists resist oppression, transforming challenges into expressions of self-transcendence. Dance is persistence in the midst of oppression, a political response to the quest for freedom through art, inspiring all to resist and persist in the struggle for a more just society.
