Comics in Schools

The project brings comics into the municipality’s schools, encouraging students’ creativity and artistic expression. They receive black and white panels and, without knowing the original colored version, create new works with their own colors and scenarios.

The goal is to stimulate the exploration of comic art by offering students the opportunity to develop artistic and narrative skills in unique interpretations of existing works.

The final works will be exhibited during the festival in the hall of John dos Passos.

In 2019, during the Travessuras Culturais Festival, we held a comic exhibition and received visits from five classes from EB1/PE in Ponta do Sol, totaling 85 children. On this occasion, each child received an A4 sheet with an explanation of the exhibition and some information about the artist, and on the back was a panel (a page from a LEO comic) in black and white. The children’s enthusiasm was such that as soon as they returned to school, they began coloring each in their own way.
