Ricardo Brito, Coimbra, August 25, 1979. He made his theatrical debut in 1999, on the theatrical initiation course at TEUC – Teatro dos Estudantes da Universidade de Coimbra, being directed by Rogério de Carvalho in the show “O Tio Vânia” by Anton Chekhov . At the time, he was attending the Philosophy course at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Coimbra. A theater professional since 2001, he has been part of projects from companies such as A Escola da Noite, O Teatrão, Teatro das Beiras, Lendias d’Encantar, ESTE – Estação Teatral da Beira Interior, among others, developing work as an actor and, more recently, as a playwright and director.

Having lived on the island of Madeira since 2013, he has already performed some performances for local structures, in addition to individual creations. He runs theater workshops in Calheta and Funchal. In 2019, he directed “ESTALEIRO, works in progress for any tomorrow”, at Contigo Teatro, and “Bem far aqui”, at Teatro do Avesso, also being part of the cast of “Snow Queen”, produced by Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias . In January 2020, an adaptation of Molière’s “O Burguês Gentil-Homem” premiered, and the staged concert “A madness é uma candeia que illuminating a thousand truths”, based on texts by Khalil Gibran, in partnership with Luís Pimenta and the band iLevados da Breca, both produced by the Associação Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, ending the year with participation in the show “Mr Green – Christmas again?!”, in a new production by the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias, where, in 2021, he was part of, as actor, the show “When I was little”, directed by João Paiva.

Throughout his professional activity, he worked with directors such as Nuno Pino Custódio, António Mercado, Rogério de Carvalho, António Fonseca, Marco António Rodrigues, José Carretas, among others. Shakespeare, Molière, Chekhov, Büchner, Brecht, Ibsen and Genet are some of the authors he had the opportunity to work with.

He debuted in 2021 as a producer with the show “Os qu’emigraRAM”, in an institutional partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Portuguese Republic, and where he also signs the direction. In 2022, he was part of the cast of the television series “Abandonados”, which will be shown on RTP, he also directed the show “Pare, Escute e Olhe” for the Machico Theater Group, he is part of the cast of “Gata em Roof de Zinc” hot”, by Tennessee Williams, directed by Fernando Heitor with production by the Teatro Experimental do Funchal, which will debut in December 2022, having received, in 2022, support from DGArtes for the creation of the show “The foreign infinite”, to premiere in 2023, in a production by Oficina de Ideias das Terras do Oeste – Associação Cultural, of which he is, at the same time, artistic director.
