He begins dancing by exploring hip-hop dances, especially popping and freestyle hip-hop. Performance artist and choreographer, he draws inspiration from his environment and collaborates with pedagogues and choreographers from the hip-hop and contemporary scene, such as Imad Nefti, Karim Khouader, Benjamin Millepied, Johanna Faye and Saïdo Lehlouh.
Merging his influences and the different cultures that shape him, Jerson Diasonama develops a reflection and manifests a singularly eclectic gesture, based on a bodily expression that is both crude and sophisticated. Parallel to his art of movement, he practices photography, oscillating between documentary and fashion photography.
Themes of identity, underground cultures and youth in their multiple aspects constitute the main axes of his work. In March 2024, he self-published Young Kings, his first photo book. In 2018, he created Essenscorp, an experimentation laboratory dedicated to movement and body mechanisms, exploring the creation of objects, performance, image and sound, in which he signed his first performance for three dancers, Run Until You Can’t Fall (2019). In 2022, he is the winner of the Danse Élargie competition, created by the Théâtre de la Ville de Paris and the Musée de la Danse de Rennes in partnership with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès.
